Since when did the term "gay" come to mean "homosexual"? Gay means happy. And if they're happy, then let them be. Homosexual people deserve just as much respect as a heterosexual. There are assholes on both sides, so I don't see why we don't find something better to pick on: character, personality, morals, etc. Not sexuality. There's a gay teacher in my school and we treat her the same as any other teacher. With respect. What they choose to do on their own, private time is up to them and none of my business. How is legalizing marriage between gay people hurting any heterosexuals? It won't affect you, Checks, unless you happen to know them personally. But, like I said, it's their life and their business, so it shouldn't even affect you anyway. I agree with Anguirus on the point that in our overpopulated society, humans don't look on mating as a prime factor in the survival of the species. Well, yes, it IS technically, but it's no big deal. People do it every day as leisure. Marriage is between two people that love each other and if they love each other, then let them have the right to a legal bonding. Being gay isn't illegal, so why should the marriage between two gay people be? I do think it's natural. I don't think a person could help it. Humans, who have a frontal lobe unlike lesser animals, have a deeper spectrum of emotion and thought. Animals simply act on instinct. Humans have the ability to decipher different ways of doing things and solving complex problems. As I like to say, humans are the only animals that have learned to ignore their instincts. So maybe the idea of attraction to another of the same gender developed from that.

On another note, maybe homosexuality is, in a perverse way, Nature's method of keeping our population under control. Interesting idea, seeing as there are more than enough of us already.

Basically, being gay shouldn't deprive a person of their basic rights and due respect. They're still human beings. You shouldn't let other people's business interfere with your life. That's just stupid, Checks. A marriage between a gay couple won't affect you unless you LET it.
