i swore to step away.
as emotions
wilt
inside out.

and i also swore to make white...
the empty pages say it all.
fingers touch only air,
as perceptions tend to trickle.

tears are ripe on friday night.

so
i
picked up the phone.
"hello operator. bid the boys goodnight, will ya?"
and the monotonous dial hummed in approval.

.approve this.

fall short
fall fast
falling short...
catch me.

and so i waltzed beside him...
"send the thank yous all around please"
as i curtsied to my audience.
thin remains endow a not so shallow me.

clocks count backwards
as hearts leap forward.
i guess i'm heading towards
not you.
