Rei crooned as her mate came nearer. She offered to share the fish, and saw his owner was in a hurry. She wasn't too sure...
The queen egg was ready. Rei gasped as the little queen crawled out into the open. The baby would choose. She walked around a bit, creeling with hunger, Rei making sure to keep the fish away; she must be impressed. The little queen started to chirp, and it was heart-breaking for the mother, until finally, wings outstreched, she balanced her walking over to the little girl. Rei gace her mate her sinserest apollogy, telling him the queen of her next clutch could be theirs. It would be theirs. It was her promise.
