The young girl walked up slowly, smiling at the beautiful queen. Her queen egg had hatched, but it mattered little. Synthis walked up, and knelt before the queen. She bowed in reverence, and then looked pleadingly into the sovereign's eyes.
Oh, sweet queen, please hear me! I cannot talk like a normal human. I was cursed mute from birth. Do you think I could have a flit from your clutch? I hope if I get a flit, it can relay my messages to others, maybe even be the one creature who culd understand me...
tears stained Synthis's white tunic-shirt, as she recalled all the pain she'd gone through from her disability to talk. Could the queen hear her? She hoped so. Color, gender, and size didn't matter to her. It was the quality of the friend, so she'd let the mother pick for her, if she found Synthis worthy...
