On his chestnut mare Redwort, Bifen drew aside a gold clutch. Tying Redwort to a tree a little farther than the edge of the beach, he appraoched the lovely gold cautiosly. He gave a half smile to the two girls, and knelt so his face was level with the golden dutchess.
"Golden dutchess, ruler of the skies, may none ever rival you, might I make of you a small request? I would be honored to sshelter one or wo of your many children. I have no flits, but I am ready to provide a good home."
He held up a pouch of carefully cut raw meat, and offered the queen a tasty tidbit. Part of the liver, which had the most calcium and nutrients golds needed to be good mothers. He offered it as a good peace offering, not wanting it to seem as though he was bribing the gold. He hoped that his thoughts were clear to her.
