How flattering! Ariella coos softly to her mate again, still appreciating his continued attentions. You can take them to him if you want. I'd hate our children to get stolen when I turn my back. She rolls the small egg and then the large one toward the bronze with a farewell chirp to her young ones. Underscoring her previous point with a protective mother's twisted logic, she whips around at the buzzing of an insect and snaps at it. It flies drunkenly away, fear running through its little insect brain. It couldn't have stolen an egg if it had wanted to, but nobody would disturb her clutch without asking.
