Alright, technically, yes, Anne's website might say that. But while this website IS closing... it isn't because of any rule that Anne wrote. I'm breaking no copyright laws here, cause I'm not selling anything, and thus I'm not doing nothing actually "illegal". However, Cana, I do appreciate your concern, and to make folks a tad more happy (and because I've planned on closing Pern for quite ahwile now because unfortunately folks... it's been dying due to inactivity anyway...) It will be closing as soon as I finish Etreus. So, no worries everybody, fly happy and take a load off your back, soon enough you will be able to join a fun new RPG where you can keep your characters with a few minor physical changes. And if you want, join some new characters and expirament with CoinShifting. This should be done by next Weds, and all will be good and well again. So, stay calm, be happy, and wait for the new arrival of Etreus.

Where's your brother moving to?? Oh, how horrible!! My whole world seems like it's crashing down!!! I've been LOA for a week and a half because my dad came up for a visit, and now I popped in to announce a longer LOA because my father-in-law has had a mild heart attack! He's in the hospital now, but without going into a lot of detail, he's not even close to out of the woods. He is the one person in my husband's family I care about most.
It may be awhile before my poor chars post again...though how, I do not yet know...:(:( But please don't put my twins on the lost souls board, okay? I will be back...snif, snif...
Anyway, are you doing anything special to kill them off...or do I take the initiative? I gotta do something with poor Thura...snif...

Alright...to explain the reason why I quit DRoP: it's illegal. The whole site is, actually...none of this is allowed, and I think you can all get in serious trouble for operating the site...to quote Anne McCaffrey's official website:
"D. All role-playing must be done offline, that is, it cannot appear in print on a website ever as it is tantamount to online fan fiction, which is not allowed (see FAQ#2) Email archives should be set for either None or moderators only when using Yahoo Groups. ** Topica.com and SmartGroups.com cannot be used due to the fact of their limited settings, neither of which meet our guidelines.** Majordomo email services (for those with their own domain names) are allowed. News archives and OOC groups are allowed online, provided that they do not entail the RP's in a story-like nature. For instance news archives can be a short summation of recent happenings with certain characters, but not a story. The history of your Weyr should also be a short summation (two or three paragraphs) of the Weyr's past."
So...you're all my friends, and I don't want any of you to get in trouble...but if you don't shut down DRoP, I will tell Anne McCaffrey's site manager. Because it's what you're supposed to do, and Anne doesn't deserve to have the rules she wants kept to be broken after all her hard work with the series. I hope I'm doing the right thing here...if I don't get a reply in five days or so, I'll go ahead and inform the Dragonlady's site manager. So please, delete the sites and boards before I have to do that.

I recently got hacked on Neopets. They took almost everything that I had, which was about 700,000 np worth of items and neopoints.
I hate to ask this, but I'm getting desperate since my time on the coomputer has been seriously cut back by school - does anyone have anything they can donate to me? How to start? I have really enjoyed your site. It is the first rpg I ever joined, and the only one I keep going back to. It's the whole reason I even started reading Anne McCaffrey books! So, because I liked it so much, I got a 'hankering' (so I sound like a farmer...:D) to have a Pern rpg of my own. I finally finished it, but before I begin to advertise, I want your approval, as you're kinda the 'big kahuna' as far as Pern rpgs go. It has a slightly different premise than this Pern, and is set up differently, so I hope it won't be a carbon copy of this Pern or 'steal' your players. I wanted to be original, and still have a Pern site. So, if you could check it out and tell me what you think (in your hypothetical free-time), I'd be really appreciative. I want this to work! But, whatever happens, thanks for introducing me to Pern and Anne. (I'm not sucking up-it's true!!!)

That was odd...but you know what's odder? I started up a guild on Neopets, and it did pretty well, actually. Got members, etc. But then, this one girl joined, and she was a good member, so I promoted her and gave her admin powers. I popped back on the guild later, she had posted she thought the second in command, my sister, was too inactive, and then lowered her to fourth position without my position. As punishment, I lowered her rank, and the only one with admin powers was my sister. She WOULDN'T give up! Every day she posted about it, and everyone told her how stupid she was, but she didn't give up. And then she said that unicorns were real and that she was the reincarnated unicorn princess Ryoko Diana Sunflower and that she as a unicorn was raised by wolves and her parents Numinor and Atlanta told her that in a dream about this past life...and that she was told to come to the guild by them to make friends and get others to believe...and in real life, she's TEN YEARS OLD.
Scary, neh? I booted her out, but she came back, and I had to boot her out AGAIN. I had to stop the guild eventually, because I lost the password to that account, but...yeah.

Well, I have midyears this week, but there's a slight chance that I'll be making a return after that. No, I don't have summer holidays, it's winter over here and I'm freezing my butt off, but I'm going to try and make a little more time, and since the others have holidays...

Ok, I've noticed for however long I've been here there's a queen in every clutch... Every Gold who is caught by a Bronze doesn't need to produce a Gold Egg every time, that could help keep the WeyrWomen and Jr. population to a nice healthy size...
About the Plauge, You couldn't use the Flu as an excuse because during Moreta's time they invented the Flu shots... I really don't think though it'd be fair to kill all the Lost Souls Characters... So.. I think you should kill those you'd imagine would never be adopted, because of personality or whatever.

I don't know how most of you will go for this so I am going to say now, that i mean NO OFFENCE by anything i say in this post.
I have been exploring the Weyrs and have noticed that most of the appear *quite* inactive. Maybe oyu should consider closing a few and having the riders transfer elsewhere...
I mean, ppl have been saying that some of the Weyrs need more activity so maybe you could close a couple and use the riders there to encourage riders in other Weyrs to get more active.
Plus a couple of the WW are not around much, so maybe they would be better suited to being junior weyrwomen... *remember, no offence intended*
Maybe you could have a plague or something, and use it to kill off a few of the less active weyrwomen? Maybe.
I know oyu all hate killing off Weyrwomen and I can see why but currently i think we have as many WW as we do other riders.
Maybe do a game wide activity check and then see who don't respond and kill them off. *sighs* I dunno, just me and my suggestions again.

Updaters,
At Fort weyr the rider's list needs updated, for all the hatchlings r now adults and some even aren't on there...such as my self *cough cough* Anyways, and the Weyr board says that their is a hatching on the sands...bla bla...and there isn't anything on the sands now with the hatching over...So, that needs to disapear or we'll have canidates and no Dragons for them..
Also, is High Reaches gonna have hatchlings soon? I've noticed its very unpopulated. I have a new char though for it. Southern is heavily inactive too, after Thread quit falling..my poor Lyra is so alone...*begins singing Linkin Park's "By Myself"*
Also, can someone let Piryth's flight begin? She's aching to race the males...

I have been basically on probation since grades came out. Well, from the computer anyway. THEN my puppy got it in his bright head to eat an entire rubber squeaky burger and send himself to the vet. THEN I started up my children's theater. And all without giving notice to my Pernese pals. I hope you haven't auctioned off my characters or anything. I would be deeply upset if you did. I can only be on Thursday nights and Saturdays until further notice. Possibly Sundays as well. It's been TORTURE!! My poor dragonriders everywhere. They will be so lost and confused. Well, I'll have to deal them back in on Saturday, because my jailer has come to toss me back into my dungeon. I will not be torn from Pern. (Feels that is a very dramatic and fitting statement to end her speech and hopes it will save her from being ripped to little shreds.)

Now that I've had a really "wonderful" realization that I really dont do that much around here to help out even though it is my own site... *seriously deep appreciative bows to S'sha and others.... you know who ye are...* I feel like I need to get into the whol role as owner here, thus... There will be some changes made... aka, we're "booting off the island" any Holds or Halls that
A. Aren't necessary
B. No one's in... unless it's a biggun such as Fort (just for example) in which case we'd have to reqruit someone...
But anyway, in these renovations so to speak, I'm also going to be adding a newspaper that will be updated monthly so that we all know what the shards is going on... (I for one rarely know what's going on in the Holds and Halls as I'm a Rider nut m'self... But I'd like to know...)
SOOOOOO! Since we're renovating... Or, I'm renovating... cause it's time for me to get my arse in gear and do a little work for once.... If you have any other ideas or suggestions, PLEASE let me know... I am respectfully asking if you, my dear Igen, would kindly inform me of the likelihood of Emer's transfer to the High Reaches, as she is rather powerhungry and feels inexplicably sorry for Ritaki. Oh, and she love T'liv desperately, can't forget that!

Alright, about the flights.
See, I think it would make sense to get one more flight board, but keep both boards open to people from every Weyr. Make any sense?
Alright, lemme try again.
We'd have two flight boards, got it? And we could have two/three flights (green!) going on simultaneously (Golds, would, of course, get the flights to themselves...but greens aren't very jealous). Those flights would still be open to people from every Weyr, continent, etc.
So basically it'd mean between four and six flights going on at once, which would make more people happy because we know everyone's just itching to get their green/gold to fly...
I'm sorry, it wasn't very coherent...I'll go get my coffee. My birthday's one month and one day from now. Yay.
