"I agree, I think I'm ready to go back." Kalya pushed back her chair and got up, stretching her muscles slightly. She shook her head gently, as if clearing out some dust, then began to walk back to the Sands, her footsteps seeming to echo as they hit the ground.
"Are you guys coming?" she asked, while she walked away. Kalya smiled. She could really now imagine the Weyr like a big community. So full of people who cared for one another. Maybe like the family she never had. Shaking her head to clear the thoughts, Kalya focused her thoughts on the Hatching, and though she hadn't intended for her thoughts to go that way, she ended up thinking about riding a queen dragon who was her lifemate, truly, and how they were helping people, changing Pern...
