When a person makes their transition from their physical body to their spiritual body there is no pain. Many who have returned after being declared clinically dead have had a NDE (Near-Death Experience) and have reported that they were taken to an absolutely beautiful place where they saw family members, relatives, friends, and many others while there. It was beautiful but were told they had to return to their physical body which many did not want to do.

In the world of spirit there is no longer any pain, suffering, earthly difficulties, etc. so many find that it is preferable to remain there, though if they have living family back on Earth they have a difficult time staying there beautiful as it may be due to their sense of realization that they still have an obligation to their family which many still consider a first priority.
