((Just slipping this in between the first and second halves of Letimira's post. ^_^))

As a Lady Holder, Gisella had been forced to hold off on marriage until she found a man she thought would prove a suitable ruler for her Hold; then the disasters had struck, and once on New Isle she'd found it too late for the children she'd always dreamed of having. To fill that lack, she tends to mother the younglings in her care, and Letimira has possibly recieved even more of that treatment than most, since Gisella is not at all confident of the girl's ability to cope with things on her own. Oh, not that she's a true lackwit, but she's so silly and childish, younger than her years most of the time, that the Headwoman tends to consider her just a little... shall we say touched in the head? And since Gisella is herself such a take-charge person, she's rarely seen Letimira display any authority, since the woman's one fault is probably her tendency to come down hard on anyone she subconsciously feels is threatening her authority. So it's with a motherly, rather indulgent eye that she looks down upong the girl as the seemingly endless river of questions stream out. "Someone else will probably take it," she begins reassuringly when the babble stops, taking the questions in order. "And the woman with the queen watchwher - do you recall her? They brought her here when they first pulled her out of the ocean - has sent one letter already to the Weyr, and two dragonriders have visited her. If you like, I can give you their names, and you can ask one of them to take you to the watchwhers in the morning. I might go along," she adds, half to herself. "We'll have to be organizing better communications, since the whers can't really live in the Weyr, and Wessae's probably in no shape to be worrying about business after the flight - but yes, child, go on to bed," Gisella says quickly, patting Letimira on the back. "Goodnight." Watching the girl leave with a fond look in her grey-green eyes, Gisella waits until she's out of view, then turns back towards the kitchens. She'll be up still for a while yet; there's work to be done.
