A Wher-Handler? Interesting. Rinali couldn’t fail to notice the speed with which the craft had been brought to the Weyr – it all seemed to happen so suddenly, with the clutch of eggs being found, the enlisting of new apprentices, and the arrival of more Handlers. But though she knew of the Wher-Handlers, she had yet to meet one. Until now, that is. Shaking her head at Hale’s slightly reluctant offer of wine, Rinali indicated her cup. “Oh no, I’ve got something.”

Though she didn’t necessarily approve of drinking a lot of wine, the queenrider did have to admit that it did wonders for the nerves. Her disinclination to drink much except at maybe Gathers meant that her one cup of wine had made her calm down remarkably from her anxiety before, and though Rinali didn’t like the relaxed feeling that alcohol brought on, she didn’t mind feeling a bit calmer. Maybe it was because she had been rather stressed-out beforehand.

“I’m Rinali, rider of gold Lilith.” She told him, mentioning her dragon after years of doing so. As a retired rider, she wasn’t expected to introduce herself as such – and most people knew who she was, anyway – but why not? If there was one thing Rinali liked, it was having rank. With her innate ability to recognise whether or not a person was suitable for one job or another came a certainty that she was suited for being in a responsible position. Though she would never admit it, Rinali was a trifle arrogant. “When did you arrive here?”
