Subject: -Oh great, another inflated ego-
In reply to: B'nederra(Kierth) 's message, "Hello!!!!!" on 20:59:19 06/29/05 Wed

((Yay! Someone to bother! I was starting to grow bored! Just be prepared - Tsuga has a very low opinion of anyone of the opposite sex.~smirks~ This should be interesting . . ..))

At the sound of someone approaching her from behind, Tsuga turned her attention to the new arrival, not wanting to be taken off guard. She had absolutely no idea who this person was that had so boldly approached them, but Alestiath seemed to sense her puzzlement, as the gold chimed in almost smugly, {Kierth’s rider. B’nederra, or something like that. Bronzerider. Older.} Tsuga nodded absently, but no one seemed to take the gesture – before the man even began to speak – amiss. Speaking to dragons was all to common around here, and people tended to take it for granted that everyone else understood. So, this was one of the bronzeriders, hmm? Her brown eyes cautious, Tsuga took him in briefly, noting with a mental eye-roll the arrogant way he carried himself and the prideful display of his knots of rank.

[I do wonder if he’s insecure about his position? Or is he just that arrogant?]

Alestiath sent her a mental sigh of exasperation and deigned not to answer. Really; Tsuga was far too stuck-up for her own good, sometimes. Oh, not about some things – certainly, not about clothes or appearance or anything like that, but who she respected was a whole other matter.

”Oh, well, I suppose, if you must.” She was still smiling, though it was beginning to feel a little more malicious. Stubbornly, she did her best to remain light-hearted and friendly, but the more she tried, the more forced it felt. Ah well; no one could expect her to change overnight, now could they? If they did, they were certainly foolish . . .. ”Hello, B’nederra. I suppose if your Kierth is anything like Alestiath, you already know that I’m Tsuga, one of the junior queenriders.” Probably, at this point, it would be polite to make a question as to where he was from, or what he’d thought of the hatching, but frankly, Tsuga didn’t care. He was far too full of himself. Must be the pride, she decided absently in respects to the knots on his shoulder. He certainly didn’t seem too insecure.

Alestiath, who had taken up her favored position on the Perches and was now sunning lazily, rumbled a greeting to the bronze before responding in kind – she always had been the social one of the pair, something Tsuga desperately needed.

{Well, at least he talks. You’re lucky if you can get her to say more than a few polite words at a time.}

Tsuga frowned briefly in response to her dragon’s light-hearted barb, shaking her head at the creature in exasperation. Honestly; she thought that everyone should adore being around other people, the way she did. And that just simply wasn’t true – at least, not for Tsuga, it wasn’t. As B’nederra went on to comment on just how picky Golds could be in choosing their Impressed, Tsuga had to choke back a laugh, causing her to give a very good impression of a sailor hocking a loogie and then swallowing it to avoid being rude. She promptly found herself coughing, though it passed quickly enough, and had to wave off concerned looks with a shooing motion of her hands.

{And just what’s so funny? You think I wasn’t very deliberate and choosy in picking you?}

[Well . . . yeah. I mean, honestly. Me, of all people! You just had to go and pick the worst possible choice out there, didn’t you, dearest?]

{Are you insulting my judgment? Saying that you’re not glad I picked you?}

[Oh, no, never that! It’s just . . . well, it was funny!]

This earned another of those mental eye rolls from Tia, but the brown-clad woman didn’t seem to care, as the conversation had begun proceeding without her. At least it didn’t seem that she’d missed much . . .. As they continued to converse, she slipped carefully around them to pick up her own plate and glass so that she could begin eating herself – after all, if B’nederra was doing it, why shouldn’t she? She was horribly famished, after all . . ..

{No patience with you humans . . . no patience at all.}

[Oh, like you’re any better?]

Alestiath once again fell silent, pretending this time to be asleep – or at least drowsing – in the sun. [Pitiful dragon.] Again, there was no answer.
