Akema doesn't deign to reply to the assumption that carrying a child is a good thing; her expression says it all. As far as she's concerned, this baby is nothing but a pain in the back. "I've missed my cycles twice, so at least that long," she mutters, slumping a bit at A'rak's curious tone. Irrationally, she'd almost wanted him to react less sensibly, so she could have justification for a little verbal flaying. Oh, calm and thoughtful is good on one level, and in the long run is a lot easier to deal with than a less logical reaction would have been... but right now what she really wants to do is rip somebody's head off. Preferably the head of the man responsible, but that's the problem - she doesn't know who's responsible, which leaves her in need of a somewhat stronger excuse before laying into any of the men she's slept with. It's not fair to vent on A'rak when he's being so nice about it all. Forcing the violent urges to the back of her mind, the greenrider makes an effort to be just as calm and rational as A'rak is being. "But there's plenty of other men who might be the father, too." Akema shrugs, giving him a faintly baleful look for pointing that out. "Mathmatically speaking, though, it's most likely yours - two weeks against one or two nights. So I thought I'd tell you first." Calm and rational. She can do calm and rational. Right. And there's always meat to be chopped up for the hatchlings, later on. She's never met a newly-made dragonrider who's refused help with that chore.
