Elly gave Shadow a shy smile as he sighed to her, secretly giving her hand to Salty under the table, who wrote out the boy’s name on it. Shadow? Strange name…but he seems nice. So the girl warmed to Shadow slightly as he signed to her, her hands flickering as she replied.
[Thank you Shadow. It would not be polite for me to ask the others to notify me when they speak!] After all, she could hardly expect them to tell her or face her when they were going to talk. She could hear them a little, but it was very muffled, especially in her right ear. More like a buzz.
Her normal tact prevented her from asking who Angelline was. [Salty has told me all about you all! I hope I can get to know you better!]

Salty shrugged. “We were told through Iro – Elly’s brown fire-lizard. If Terent doesn’t have one, he may not come as soon as we did.” Naturally he signed this to Elly, considering that this was probably the most interesting-looking conversation in the whole Dining Hall!
