In reply to: M'telle - Harilath ( Ki ) 's message, "( Dah, this took me a while, sorry. ><; )" on 21:41:28 03/10/05 Thu

Accustomed by now to the fact that most people don't know quite how to handle his muteness, R'ven mentally shrugs off M'telle's initial awkwardness. The bluerider will either get used to it or find an excuse to leave, and while R'ven hopes for the former, he can't do much about it if M'telle chooses the latter option. One eyebrow rises in surprise when M'telle mentions nearby origins, and he nods, smile widening a bit. It looks like the younger man won't be running out on him, and he's privately pleased. He'd enjoy getting to know the bluerider better.

R'ven hadn't been worried about the damage to shoulder or shirt, and he's startled at first when M'telle expresses concern. Maybe it looks worse than it is? he thinks doubtfully, and only a second later does it click that the bluerider is flirting with him. It's been a long time since he's received that kind of attention, even from men inclined in the same direction as himself, and it's distinctly encouraging to know that he still can attract that kind of interest from an attractive young man. Interest only, of course, but you never know.... His smile shifts ever-so-slightly as he nods, subtly acknowledging the undertones of the offer, and he quickly scribbles out an answer, giving M'telle time to read it before sweeping hide and pen back into his beltpouch. I'd appreciate that, thank you. Half-standing with Vey still tucked under his arm, he makes a sweeping gesture towards the door, head cocking inquistively. The gist, he hopes, should be clear - lead the way, since he doesn't know where M'telle and Harilath live.

Polite boy, Massath murmurs sleepily in the back of his mind. Should I go on back to our weyr alone?

/Don't anticipate too much, Massath,/ R'ven scolds, half-sternly, half-amused. /I've only just met him. I'm a greenrider, not a green, dragon-lady, and humans move more slowly than you do./

Her reply is not quite a grumble. Between you, Raskith, and S'kar, I don't think I'm ever going to live Branth down, am I? I was in flight, he was more impressive than Raskith, it's that simple. And after seven years with no males but Raskith about, anyone would be more impressive than that hyperactive blue annoyance. I'm sorry you didn't know his rider, but really, you didn't seem to mind at the time, she adds slyly.

/No,/ R'ven tells her with wry amusement, ignoring the second part of her comment. /You aren't ever going to live him down./ Then he very calmly and firmly proceeds to ignore her, turning his full attention back to M'telle. Snarky dragon comments in the back of his mind aside, he's interested by the boy, in multiple senses of the word, and he's not going to let Massath ruin his blossoming social life. She's had him to herself for far too long already.
