Oh, c'mon Jhyrth! Don't make me go talk to anyone!
Why're you being antisocial today? It's a Hatching Feast!
It-it's my time, Jhyrth.
Your time? You aren't clutching.
My bleeding time.
Oh.
Exactly. Can't I just wait in my weyr?
No. You need to get out.
I have cramps!
Get light fellis when you're out there, but go!

That was why Cometer, dressed in the patched and fraying shorts she wore to bed more recently, a torn shirt, and her hair escaping its braid, appeared in the Lower Caverns. She was bent pretty far in half, clutching her midsection with a look on her face that dared anyone to speak to her. Hobbling to the kitchen door, she caught an (NPC) Apprentice Healer by the arm, and croaked, "I need fellis for cramps, now."
"Right away, green rider." The apprentice can back rather quickly with a mug of wine, the acrid smell of fellis weaker than that used with serious injuries. Cometer gulped it down quickly, trying to ignore the foul taste of the wine. Why was fellis always served with wine? The weyrling never drank wine by itself, and was sick most of the time when she had it with fellis.
"My thanks, Healer," Cometer told the Apprentice, slightly more pleasant.
"Get some food, green rider," the Apprentice advised, taking back the mug.
"Always, Healer," she groaned, turning towards the kitchen. The meat would be cold, so she was surpised when the platter of wherry stung her palm as she held it to transfer slices to her plate. The bread was crusty, though, and not fresh. Cometer didn't care, and cut two slices to add to her plate. A mug of klah, and she was looking for friends. Not seeing any, she leaned against the wall, sipping from her klah. As it so happened, she was near a group of people: a girl probably just a little younger than she was, carrying a baby, a boy, and a blue hatchling. Of course, the fellis hadn't gone to work yet, so she didn't notice much beyond girl, baby, boy, blue.
