His stomach was growling but he ignored it. He raised his ears, listening for the slightest sound. He heard something moving close by. He turned toward it. He sniffed the air, searching for a scent. He was to young to actually track the animal, but he could hear it. He kept his ears high, still listening. He felt the presence of the animal in front of him, he got low to the ground, ready to pounce. He leaped at the animal. He missed.
