While I lost my testicles several years ago due to medical need, I don't necessarily consider it a bad thing, and my wife certainly enjoys the fact that birth control is no longer such a big deal for us. There are definitely a significant number of men out there who would be willing to undergo such a procedure, I know because I spent time talking on a forum with them before I lost my testicles. All that I want to make sure is that people understand that there are side effects to having the hormone changes in the body. One big thing is worrying about osteoporosis, as hormone levels post-castration are on par with post-menopausal females. I know what my hormone levels are, as they get regularly checked by an endocrinologist, but it's one that if I didn't need the testosterone for energy levels, I would take a much lower dosage just to keep my libido in check better. I've considered talking to the endocrinologist about using estrogen in combination with or instead of testosterone, I don't want a strong libido but I do want the energy levels. I want you to know I am not offended or upset in the very least. I am willing to discuss different strategies and options to make sure we can have a peaceful society, I just want to keep the scientific facts in place as part of that discussion. If it were to be one of those things that as a society we could handle the side effects that come with loss of testosterone, then I would have nothing against allowing voluntary castration.
