I always found it so humiliating. Like your son, I had a younger sibling too, and having her seeing me having a nappy put on made it a hundred times worse. The ironic thing for me was that after a while I actually started to enjoy wearing a nappy and rubbers. On numerous occasions this resulted in the very thing granny was trying to stop ruining her mattress. So when she came to remove my nappies in the morning she'd see the stain and smile knowingly, telling me that she was right all along and that I did need to have a nappy on.
