Even if I'd been put back into a nappy it somehow seemed to reinforce my babyish punishment by having a dummy popped into my mouth. And of course if I was in the car no-one could see my nappy or baby knickers. But my dummy was on show to anyone who cared to glance my way. A baby's feeding bottle, which I also had to endure, was a whole new level of humiliation. Mummy or Daddy would lay me down with my head in the crook of their arm while they held the bottle for me to drink. And I had to drink it all up, even if I was full.
