Subject: Boy in shorts all year

I'm 14 (boy) and my parents keep me in shorts all year long no matter how cold it is outside. I go to school in shorts and everywhere else. They say it makes me tough in winter and another point is that the belt or cane marks on my legs remind me to behave.
Any other parents do it?
