His daughter was not partaking in the festivities mainly because his daughter was once again gone. The situation reminded him more than a little of his first mate Dragon. His heart seemed to shrivel as he remembered the endless days of waiting for her return. Was he doomed to such vigils forever? Sighing, he glanced at his mate. She seemed so happy chasing the mischievous little rodent. Her youthful exuberance practically forced a smile to his lips. He wished he could be that happy.
