Everybody probably already knows this, but for the few that may not, 20 is the age of majority in Japan. It's when one is considered an adult. 0-19, you're a child.

But rules is rules, even if the rules suck. And she is technically a child.

Having said that, the pressure on the the young lady must be enormous, and I don't blame her for doing what she did, why she did it. I know if I was in her shoes, I probably would have noped out.

Given the little I've read in the couple of articles I've seen, and given the media bias, this is being made out to be more than it is. Someone obviously lagged on her, most likely a team-mate, most likely someone who had something to gain, the top spot on the team. Again, if it was me, I would have noped out. I don't work with people I can't trust. And if you don't have trust, you don't have anything. Whoever it was, weakened the team. That person, or people, should be held to account also.

Doing what is right, isn't always what is best. That may sound morally and ethically ambiguous, but in this instance, taking no action would have been the better thing to do. Since it was such a minor transgression. And normal teenage human behaviour.

This entire thing is disgraceful.

Shoko has my sympathies.

Nick
