Subject: I think I made a friend

Was working out in the front yard yesterday afternoon, when I saw her car parked in next door's driveway. I kept at it, keeping an ear open for any sounds of movement, and I just happened to look up when I saw her walking to her car.
Long story short, I invited her in, and we spent some time catching up, and I was able to give her that very overdue gift, which instead of being a very overdue Christmas present, became a slightly early birthday present, which she loves, saying it was a really thoughtful gift, I even got an unexpected hug out of it. I wished her a Happy Birthday of course.
She even said she'll try and visit more often, as she seems to enjoy our company here too.
I think I have a friend, for the first time in years. (Yee!)
As an aside, she may have quit smoking after breaking up with next door's eldest boy, but you know what, I really don't mind if she has. That said, she may still partake, I just didn't see evidence of it yesterday.
Seeing her again made my day.
