Metamorphosis Redux (Part Two - Mika Becomes a Smoker/Mika's Journey Begins)

'Mika Becomes a Smoker' and 'Mika's Journey Begins' are a pair of stories posted on Reddit by beacon821, the nym of a user who abandoned the story after reciving justified criticism of the second story who's plotline involved a non-smoker extorting sex from the protagonist and her apparently enjoying the experience.

What follows are some 'metamorphoses' that could be used to extract a more effective dramatic arc from the material presented (IMHO the first story is too good to go to waste.)

The first 'Metamorphosis' would be to take the first two stories as written but have Mika have 'second thoughts' about her experience and try to find some way out of the mess she's gotten into, perhaps with the help of her friends.

The second, alternative possible 'Metamorphosis' would shift perspective to one of Mika's friends, either Julie, the only friend named, or someone else finds out what happened and resolves to see the man involved gets punished for what he did.

The third, alternative possible 'Metamorphosis' ditches the conclusion of the second story and would focus on Mika's relationship with her friends at the coffee shop and have one of them be the person victimised, leading to Mika taking steps to ensure the man involved gets punished.

There are other possibilities with this storyline, but I'll leave them to active authors to find out.
