Subject: 13 stories left in the filler pool…

Being the 14th of the month, I've added another story to NSC 145 from the filler pool, leaving 13.

There is one new story in this month's volume, with another likely on the way. Meaning if I don't get anything else new, 145 is going to be mostly filler.

Worst case, we'll get through next month with 10 stories in 146, but not enough to fill 147 in July, meaning it will likely drop in August. The inconsistent releases I've been warning about.

Not saying active writers have to create works just so I can put out more content, just a statement of where we're at.

And we are where we are, simply because there aren't enough writers in the community, at least those that don't use AI, or who write fvckfests, there are plenty of those. But I, and you, have standards.

A lot of previous contributors have vanished or have stopped writing.

So is it the end?

Nope.

I'll keep at it while there are still active authors, but since there is no new blood, is there a point to me continuing? And while I have storage issues, all I can do is play catch-up on the stuff I've been forced to neglect. as it is, there is a lot of stuff I'm holding back, and stuff I still have to do, but no way to make it available. I do have my own dropbox account, but I use that for personal stuff. I want to keep the Library and my personal stuff separate.

As sure as I'm an ugly bastard, I'm not going to sit around and wait to see if something new appears. And very few people think to notify me, or send me stuff, though I am grateful to those who do.

There's a distinct pattern to new stories appearing, upticks around the starts and ends of every year, with a slump in the middle, and we're in the current slump too early.

I still have two goals with NSC, hit and pass the 2000 story mark, and get to volume 150. No doubt the former will happen, but if something doesn't change, the latter will take at least a couple of years.

With the stuff I'm holding back, we're quite close to 800 items. If I'd been able to release stuff when I was able to do so, we'd have left that milestone in the dust ages ago.

And with the gradual erasure of our presence from the net, the Noble leaf Library is likely the greatest community resource to exist.

I've just done a search for "Smoking by Denise", a term that even just a few years ago would have yielded plenty of results. Now it's down to 3 results. And one of those was irrelevant, the other two only partially so. I had to turn off content filtering in my search engine to get anything else, and a lot of what I've seen so far has nothing to do with SbD. Can't see any recent posts I've made about it, even from here. There is one interesting thing I've spotted, several years ago, someone translated it into Portuguese. I'll try and find it, and if it still exists, it'll likely be a version from the original website, long before I had anything to do with it. Wish me luck on that.

Another thing I noticed, I'm not seeing my online name anywhere regarding it, not even after 20 years, nor am I seeing any references to web sites where it all kicked off, or where I know I've talked about it.

And that's fvcking disturbing.

I wonder what would happen if I searched for "Smoking Ladies Board"?

No Results. None.

Now I'm worried.

Added in Voy, because that's where we are right now.

No results.

And that's through DuckDuckGo.

I expect I'd get different results on different engines, but as far as DDG goes, we've been made invisible. And only a few weeks ago, I did the same search, and got results.

This is fvcked.
