Subject: New Smoke City - An Anthology of Karen Somers (In the Holding Pen)
Having had a couple of 'new-old' stories from Karen appear recently, and having mentioned it here previously, I've put together an Anthology volume.
It's in the Holding Pen with the other stuff for now, given that I'm running short of space on the cloud services. But when that problem resolves, I'll be releasing the lot.
There are 11 stories in the volume, just over 300 pages. Most of then were written by Karen, a couple she teamed up with Fleming on.
I find myself with a fair bit of spare time of late, and while I should be getting the numerous Anthologies and Treasuries up-to-date, I'd like to update the NSC story list first, it'll happen, trust me. In the mean time, if anyone has suggestions for Anthologies or Treasuries, I'm the guy. as long as I have a minimum of three stories to work with, that's all I need to build something. I could probably just go through and put a list together, but I don't want to create a bunch of stuff you don't want to read. Same thing for Themed releases. Just you won't be seeing things for a bit.
The filler pool still has enough to gut us through to August, but given the lack of new stories, the corresponding volume might appear in September.
We're getting closer to 800 files in the library, too. I could release the stuff in the holding pen and get us there quicker, but given the state of things, I'd rather get us there slowly and hold out for more cloud storage, than dump everything and risk the content not being available at all.
Regarding the now defunct Committed Smokers board, I have no new information, and knowing what the community is like, it's unlikely we'll know what happened. Several people have migrated over to The Refuge, and of course people are welcome here, but we now have one less option on the table. Sometimes boards are passed on to new admins, like this place was to me, but some people just walk away. I have no intention of doing that. But should circumstances occur that I have to, I'll try and give you fair warning, and try and find somebody willing to take the controls. There is one thing, this forum has to stay this particular purple.
Things at my end aren't going so well right now, so if I am a little lax in attending to my responsibilities here, it'll be because of that. Worst case, I'll be homeless. Hope it won't come to that, family turns on you sometimes.
