Subject: O/T: I fvcked up
This is where you get to have a good laugh at my stupidity.
Some of you may or may not know I like to experiment with food, in this case, Tea.
A few years ago, I discovered some flavoured teas do really well in lemonade, cold brew and hot brew, which can be a bit hit and miss, but when it works, it really works, allowing me to invent flavoured fizzy drinks what wouldn't otherwise exist. There can be quite refreshing, and when combined with Alcohol, I'm told they were well as mixers. I don't do booze, so I wouldn't know first hand.
Anywho, I was doing a bit of grocery shopping today, and I spied a box of Lipton tea, powedered, Mango-flavoured. And my brain went, Hmmm, HMMMMMMMM!
So, I got home, made a cup of actual tea, indulged in housework, and when I decided to take a break, I made up some of that tea. Or, I tried to.
Here's what happened.
I read the instructions. One sachet to 250mL of water.
Okay, the bottle was 1.25L, so I'd need 5 sachets. But I went with one, figuring I'd try different quantities till I got it right.
I cut the top off the sachet, opened the bottle and sprinkled just a little in. It fizzed up just a little, which I expected, so I was being careful, this wasn't my first rodeo.
Seeing that the fizz was manageable, I kept adding powder, all was good, until gravity decided to 'help'.
Suddenly, the entire sachet emptied itself into the bottle.
Shit exploded.
And so I sit here typing this after cleaning up the lemonade that fountained itself all over the kitchen bench, the floor, and me.
But, the cup's worth of now flavoured lemonade that remained in the bottle, tastes like Mango-flavoured Tea. Nice. It'd be quite good if it had chilled in the fridge overnight.
I shall try again tomorrow. And I'm going to be a lot more careful.
I used to occasionally watch those videos where people would chuck a Mentos into a bottle, and put the cap on, before taking off to a safe distance, so they could watch the thing explode. I used to think they were bullshit.
Now I'm not so sure.
Good thing I didn't try to put the lid on. If I had, I may not be here to type this.
