G'day FSB,

Sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you, been busy at this end. And thanks for the well-wishes, I'm healing up well enough, but since I've lost a fair bit of blood, I get tired easily, I took a ten minute walk the other day, and I was knackered by the end of it, despite most of it being down hill. Then I had to make the return journey, mostly up hill, had to stop and rest a few times for that. Something I've since learned, is that it'll take about six weeks to replace the missing red stuff, so I've got about another five weeks to go.

I'd love to hear a sample of what you've done.

And regarding dropping PDFs into your web browser, nice one, it's something I suggested a few years ago, it's fast and opens the documents full-screen, you're the first person other than myself that does it.

There's a version of Read Aloud for Firefox, so I'm going to give it a go, see what happens.

What I'd really like to do is have an app that will read different character speech text in different voices, rather than the same one all the way through, this would allow me to use a dedicated Narrator voice also, but that stuff costs money that I don't have.

Another problem I've had is pacing with the audio, and of course words that aren't pronounced correctly. Same thing I've seen with a lot of HFY AI slop videos. The stories themselves are passable, but sentences run together, and words are pronounced differently over the course of the story. Making it confusing to listen to. But it's AI, so par for the course. I guess it's all we've got until an actual human narrator appears and does a read. I'd pay someone for their work if I could. I don't expect people to work for free. That said, I do, so . . .

If I can find something that works better than what I've got, I'll see what I can turn out. (Even if it does send the text to Google.)
