Took me a while, but I found it.

There's not much, I stopped due to lack of interest.

I completed an alignment matrix, started work on character stats that can be rolled with 1d6, and a character sheet, also partially completed.

I didn't want it looking too much like D&D, so I made some alterations, but I think if the system were completed, D&D modules could be run.

I had intended Character creation to be a little more nuanced, More complicated than your normal D&D character, but less complicated than machine-based RPGs.

I also included pre-rolls for NPC creation, which can be used for Generic NPCs, or specialised NPCs

I wanted to get into races, but I never got that far.

I did call it World of Smoke, as a working title, since smoking is a major game mechanic.

There would have been certain buffs and debufs to smoking which would vary by character class. Smoking would effect the overall party also, they would be slightly easier to detect if trying to remain hidden, for instance, if some PCs had buffs still in effect. Theory was, while smoking may buff traits and abilities, they can smell you coming. A Rogue-like character my get a buff to Agility and Perception, but it would be harder for them to sneak. Characters who cast spells may restore Mana faster, or take less time to memorize spells, as smoking would allow them to relax and concentrate. They would also use smoking in their spell-casting

The five items in the alignment matrix are Anti-Smoking Zealot, Anti-Smoker, Non-smoker, Pro-Smoker, and Smoking Fetishist. With non-smokers being indifferent as a baseline, but would have different reactions to smokers, or non-smokers, fetishists or zealots.

It's the only complete item, but I can't paste it in without the formatting getting messed up.

Smoking could also be used in non-combat engagements, with a buff or debuff to Charm, depending on the alignment of whoever they're dealing with.

Types of smoking would typically be Cigarette, Cigar, or Pipe. I considered Hookah, but it's unlikely few PCs would want to lug one into battle, however, now that I think about it, it may buff traits of other PCs by sheer aura alone, and would be a useful thing for spell-casting PCs, especially in prolonged battles, though the PC using it would bed able to take no action, other than to smoke. I dunno.

That's some of my thoughts. It's been nice to revisit. Would have been cool if it became a thing. I wouldn't mind getting back into it if there was enough interest. The Fiction scene is pretty much dead at the moment, it's too hard to tell what's written by people, and what's generated by AI. Yep, AI killed Fiction, like it has other forms of creativity.

Nick
