Folks,

It's taken about 5 months, but this volume now has only two empty slots.

If it's going to take at least 6 months to fill a volume, is it even worth my time any more?

And I get it, writing takes time and effort, inspiration is thin on the ground. But I'm grateful that some still take that time, and make that effort.

I've said for years now that the Wuhan Flu (Covid), killed the momentum, and now AI is killing creativity.

Knowing what is written by Humans, and what is generated by AI is almost impossible to distinguish without running story through something to check. And who has the time to do that? Not me. And Authors don't even mention it any more. The use of AI is lazy, derivative, and lacks creativity. And if that's what the future of writing is, I don't want to be a party to it.

I'll stick around for the few of us that are left.

So what do we do going forward? Keep buggering on, I guess.

There is still about 9 days left in this release cycle, but I'm not going to hold my breath in anticipation. So maybe next month? Then its six months to a year before the next release, the way things are going.

Looking back, I started my reconstruction of SBD back in 2005. So in about three months, I'll have been at this for 21 years. Soon after that, I'll turn 55. I honestly expected to be doing this when I hit retirement age.

Fvck, that's only a decade away. Makes me wonder what the fvck I've done with my life. I do know that for a good third of it, I'll have been doing this, if I last that long.

Nick
