Again, I’m just seeing this now. I had no idea anyone was still in contact with V. I supposed she had simply vanished. I only discovered her writing at the point when her own activity online, and that of the communities she had started or been integral to were winding down, but I can’t begin to express how important her writing has been to my own understanding of self, of others, and the psychology of sexuality in general. There are a thousand things I would want to ask her — so many I wouldn’t know where to start. This isn’t all of her writings. I would offer to send what else I have, but had I known she didn’t want it compiled, I wouldn’t have requested it in the first place.
The chance of her reading something of mine — not even with comment, nor even certain knowledge that she had or would, but just the chance she might — is a spur to me in my efforts. If there isn’t a chance, don’t tell me.
