Subject: An annoyance: What the f*ck is wrong with image search engines?

So I'm working on a thing, and I need an image for the front cover.

I type into the search box…

Man lighting Woman's Cigarette

Okay a bit of a complex query, but I didn't expect the results I got with the sites I tried so far.

While I might have seen perhaps a handful of images that fit the criteria (none of which are remotely suitable), I got a whole heap of other stuff that isn't related, or no results at all.

Women lighting Men's cigarettes.
Women lighting their own cigarettes.
Men lighting each other's cigarettes.
Men in bed together. (not passing judgement, but come on, really?)
Men and women smoking joints.

And lots and lots of pictures of both men and women together or alone without a cigarette in sight.

I know search engines have improved much over the past few years, but what the f*ck?

All I want is a picture of a man lighting or just having lit a Woman's cigarette. A Gentleman doing the Gentlemanly thing for a lady.

And this isn't the first time it's happened. I know others here have encountered the same sort of thing.

So what the f*ck is wrong with image search engines? Yeah, I know things are becoming increasingly agenda-driven, and searches rely on tags, but is it really too much to ask to get the results to queries you actually ask for?

Nick
