Not really a fair thing to say about this particular author at all; not all of her output is to my taste, but she always took the story in a very different direction to whatever had been similar before, and some of her work was among the most novel and unique in the genre. In fact, some of it was flat out weird (in a mostly good way).
Is there a huge spate of people plagiarising other's work on Amazon that I'm unaware of, as a side note? I've paid to read some trash, but it's all been new trash. The worst I saw was something that had been previously posted as fact on a dying forum, but it was suspiciously narrative to begin with and I just took it for the original poster just honestly posting it as fiction this time.
