I am not a pro golfer like yourself, but when I took up NG then LPG I saw the advantages of the system immmediately even though it took awhile for my scores to improve. After two years I shot a 3 under 57 on an easy executive style course. I also shot a par and a couple of rounds of 1 or 2 over, thanks to the SA system.
Maybe you are giving up too soon or need better instruction. Have you checked out Jack Kuykendall.
