Subject: Fascinating Conversation

I read with interest how Chazman softened somewhat his stance against the Natural Golf people after he met with one of the brass at Medinah.

The Canadian Tour is in town (Ottawa, Ontario) playing it's TPC at Eagle Creek GC. Representing Natural Golf on this tour is Ken Martin, who among many other things, taught Sandy Lyle the NG swing at Sawgrass late last year, and continues to work with him.

After boldly introducing myself to him on his way to the first tee, Ken indicated that he would like me to join him and another member of our golf club with whom Ken is staying for the week, at our weekly mens' night. Later, I shared a cart with Ken for the nine holes during which time he talked at length about the weaknesses of CG instruction, the NG swing, the company, where it is headed, and of his own experiences as a golf professional. Ken did not play, however, on 18, a par 5, he grabbed a driver and then fairway club, and in sandals, hit two of the straighest shots you will ever see, to the fringe of the green.

Ken was extremely honest in his comments, recognized some of the company's shortcomings, talked about what they have done to improve, how they are trying to get all of the CI's on the same page, what their plans are for the future and so on.

While I was never anti NG, as a few on this forum are, I came away from the evening believing that if others at NG who are in decision making positions, are as intelligent, honest and competent as I perceive Ken to be, then NG will become even more successful in slowly, but positively changing the way golfers swing a golf club.

Sandy Lyle is not the only PGA Tour player who has worked on the Natural Golf swing and Ken indicated that NG is being respectfully looked upon, by tour members, as an excellent swing alternative, once they have an understanding of what the fundamentals are and of the reason's behind them.

It was a most enjoyable evening.
