Subject: I use an Integra 450 ...

While I don't do pure NG (probably more like IMA), I use an Integra 450 10 degree with an Accuflex Vizion Ultralight shaft at 46 1/4 inches. It's the best combo I've ever hit. The Vizion shaft is awesome ... only 55 grams at 46 inches with 3.0 torque, mid kickpoint. I really launch some bombs with this baby. The 450 head is outstanding ... it is huge but you get used to it quickly. Sound and feel are good for a club of this ilk, but also, take a little getting used to. In direct comparison, I have hit the new NG Ti hammer and like it very much. Sound and feel a bit better than the 450, because it is a lot smaller. Much better than the first Ti hammer. I hit NG's club just as straight as my 450, but lower and not as long.

What the golf public in general doesn't know or understand is that most of these big Ti heads come from the same foundries (usually overseas), whether they are component or OEM. For example, you can pay $250 for a 400cc Hippo Giant with a crappy OEM shaft, OR you buy an Integra 400 (which is the same head as the Hippo with different graphics on sole), put a quality shaft in it like an Accuflex, UST, Harrison, whatever, even have it spine aligned, and still spend about half the price of the Hippo. Another example: The $350 Taylormade 300 series driver heads have a little sticker on them that says "Made in China." Nothing wrong with that, just be aware that what you are paying for when you buy a high-priced OEM is mostly advertising, not better quality. Yes, they spend more money in R & D than the component companies, but not nearly enough to justify the outrageous prices they charge.

One other factor, heads as big as the 450 or bigger are known to be prone to breakage if you have extremely high swing speed (like 120 mph or over). I make about 105 with the driver and have had no problems.
