School Marm,

We don't usually criticize grammar or spelling in discussion forums, but since you are at it...

>"You would have gotten an "F" in Fourth Grade
>English!!"
>
>Since when is "have gotten" proper English?

What is wrong with it, School Marm? Either "have gotten" or "have got" are acceptable, even in formal writing. Both are alternative past participles of the word "get".

>Tis far better to remain silent and assumed to be a
>fool, than to open one's mouth and confirm it!

You kinda' mangled that quote. Do you mean " 'Tis "?

" 'Tis ", with the apostrophe preceding the letters, is a word in the dictionary, but simply " Tis " is not.

In addition, the quotation is not "and confirm it," but rather "and remove all doubt." The actual quote from Mark Twain is, "It is far better to remain silent and appear a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

"Practice what you preach," seems appropriate.
