Because almost every design has already been used or copied before without any ramifications. They have a hard time getting donw on clones, and the can only really enforce that if they are actually stamping the name of the real product on the clone.

NG's new designs don't seem so "new" in fact the Piplines look like copies of Nicklaus VCGs and the P3s look like the old Orlimars!
