Even with all of the bashing going on here, everyone would collectively agree that a single axis swing, (not necessarily NG) is a superior way to strike a golf ball. Being a beginner, you probably would have an easier time of it than most, since there is no "unlearning" of conventional habits involved.

My biggest piece of advice would be to stay away from these discussion groups until you have your swing grooved, because you will experience a severe case of information overload and confusion. (If you do not like hardball style name-calling, intimidation, bashing, threats, profanities, etc., stay away from this one altogether!)

All of the posters started out with NG and some have moved on to other single axis methods, but it is a good place to start. Just don't jump in head over heels and purchase everything they try to sell you.
