SA drivers tend to be 46 inches because of the extra weight of the grip, combined with lightweight shafts of 68 grams. This combination requires that 45.5 and 46 inch length in order to get significant swingweight.

There are many good shafts from $16-$45. However, remember that shaft weight can vary from 68 grams to 125 grams, and the heavier the shaft weight the shorter you can make the club, if you don't like 46 inch long drivers.
