The ONLY way a ball goes straight is if the clubface is square at impact to the target line, if Tom was hitting the ball with a closed club face he would either be hitting a draw or a hook, I saw him hit over a hundred balls, and not one hook, not one slice and only a few draws and a couple of fades, the vast majority were dead straight!

Additionally clubhead speed is mainly achieved from COAM, the conservation of angular momentum, in other words maintaining the angle between the clubshaft and the trail forearm as long as possible.

Tom teaches one how to do this with his drills instilling one to hold the angle of the trail wrist bend into impact, if you knew anything about the physics of the golf swing you would be aware that it is virtually impossible hold this bend through impact as the angular momentum will force a release automatically as one runs out of right arm at the bottom of the swing arc.

Call it incorrectly a blocking swing if you want, but after seeing Tom hit 300 yard drives into the wind, I will certainly opt for it over the loosey-goosey Grass Cutter swing of the new NG which is mucho dependent on timing and tempo!
