People learn differently. Some can learn by reading. Others need to see and others need to do. I generally can learn best by reading first and I have found Ed's writing difficult to follow. However, when you break his drills down to the simplest of tasks, his drills can help strengthen already learned Single Axis techniques. But it requires a lot of patience and time to understand what he wants you to do.
