Bill: Pulling is a difficult condition to examine because the things that increase the chances of pulling vary from type of SA swing to type of SA swing. In other words, IMA, NG and Moe.

HOWEVER, if this will be of any help, let me stick in my two cents. As a Moeite (I try to swing like Moe) a few things have to fall into place. First, you have to stand like Moe so that the club goes inside on the takeaway. Hogan does the same thing. So learn how to stand like Moe so that you retain the spine angle throughout the swing.

Moe doesn't stand like this, but standing like this will make you understand why the club goes inside for Moe. Stand with your back bent (Moe doesn't do this) and your butt sticking out like sitting in the chair, and sit on your heels. Now take the club back and your lower body will stay still, and the club automatically goes bck inside. Now, if you stand like Moe stands, you will get the same effect.

When you swing back like I described the left knee will automatically point towards the ball. On the downswing, move onto a bent left knee so that your hips won't rotate too much to the left. Look at pictures of Moe and his address position and near impact position are similar. This would be very difficult to do, if he didn't move onto that bent left knee.

Let me say this better. On the backswing, the club goes inside the downswing path. Then, swing onto a bent left knee after impact, which will keep you facing the ball. If you let the left leg straighten you will pull to the left, as your hips will rotate left. You need to deflect that hip rotation onto that left foot, which is ahead of the ball.

Good luck.

Remington
