Ping, Wilson, just about any major OEM can club fit you so that's not an issue, they will even fit you for the SA swing. I can get club fit for a set of Wilson Fat Shafts (with their stock oversized grips) which are a lot nicer clubs then anything NG makes for $200. less then what NG charges.

Tour Edge makes excellent clubs that are at least as good as NGs and they can be club fit for substancially less then that.

P.S. Larry Olson was hitting my homemade Dynacraft LCG IIs 7 iron (a junk component club as you call them) just as good if not better then his Pipeline 7 iron!! NG clubs are overpriced!
