Subject: A putting tip for the casual golfer.

Often recreational golfers will miss short because
they hit "at the ball" as oppossed to through the ball.
They will often hit to the left as they turn to see to soon
where it is going and pull it to the left. Typically
unconscious compensation takes place and then they hit the
next one to the right.
I have a drill that will help you avoid this syndrome.
The next time you visit the putting green drop a ball about
4 feet from the hole. Directly in front of it about 8 inches and in line with the center of the hole place a
ballmark. Now looking at the ball and the ballmark roll the
ball over the ballmark. This will result in your making
more of those pesky four footers.
Here is why. If you are looking at the ball passing
over the ballmark, you can't turn your head too soon to
watch it go toward the hole. Also as you hit it over the
ballmark your putterhead will accelerate through the ball,
in fact at first you will probably hit the ball too hard.
Don't worry you can adjust.
Now you can't place a ball mark down on the green,
so you will have to pick out a repaired ballmark, a spikemark, a piece of discolored grass etc to roll the ball over. If all else fails you are just going to have to imagine a spot to roll the ball over.
You can read other tips from me at the Tips and
Addendums section at my site http://kss.fws1.com and see
an animation of that ancient oriental golfer Mo No Mon.
This tip just has to help.
