I don’t understand how Miss Alabama Collegiate is allowed to compete in Miss University of Alabama. Can someone explain the rules behind this?

Wouldn’t she have to give her Al collegiate title?

Has anyone informed the director? Do we know she has not given it up? I am involved with Miss Alabama and have never heard of her so I would not know she had another title and I doubt the local director knows. And, how will we know if she does give up her title? has she already been to a national competition?

Appears she is still the Miss Alabama Collegiate titleholder and has been posting to the FB page as recent as 2-3 days ago. The National pageant has already taken place and the State Pageant is November 18th. My understanding is that you cannot hold a title that leads to a National title and compete in Miss AL preliminaries - Are they going to give her a pass if she doesn't give up her title? I know girls in the past that had to give up titles just to compete, have the rules changed?

I also know there are girls who had to sit out a year because they wouldn't give up a title - are the rules different now? If anyone knows, please post here.

Honestly Hannah will probably win so if someone else is chasing crowns elsewhere who cares?

This is by far the strongest local in Alabama and possibly any state in many, many, many years. Hoping there is a huge crowd to cheer them on. The judges will have their work cut out. I think there are multiple girls that could win. At least ten of these should be at Miss Alabama in the summer.

I doubt ten will be at Miss Alabama. Five maybe.

Seven of them have competed in Miss or Teen already. So I think five is low. Being Miss University of Alabama is wonderful and these girls want to win that local. But also, many of them want to be at Miss Alabama. There are plenty of locals left and I was told there will be a year end pageant again. I think ten might be a stretch but I think 7-8 is probable and ten is possible. We shall see. Other locals will be else competitive unless UAB and Auburn runners-up head to locals after those two prelims. I know some Auburn girls will for sure. I think every runner-up at Auburn won a local after their school pageant.

I think Hannah will win and Ibby will be up there BUT there are several new contestants that we’ve never seen perform and they could win with a better talent, I think that Hannah’s weakest spot is her talent. It will come down to interview & talent

I guess they weren't impressed enough - However, interesting - one of the judges also judged Sunday - Birmingham/cahaba Valley and she won a title there....

I have from reliable sources she was seen standing in line for cigarettes at a convenience store in Tuscaloosa. On top of that she was wearing a tank top.

I heard there were originally 175 entries for the Miss UA Pageant thus putting to rest that this pageant is the gold standard of them all. It is such a coveted title !
I hope we see the return of the Hounds Tooth gown worn by Chandlar Champion. I just wish they take the photos this time not in a building condemned for vacancy. RTR!!!

Kudos to The University of Alabama in Huntsville for not putting their name on a beauty pageant cloaked as a scholastic pageant. No self respecting institution of higher learning could take its self serious in the academic realm of things to do such a thing. Look at the top 25 academic institutions of higher learning and see if they do such a silly thing.
