I guess that transfer to Clemson didn't pan out. Maybe a little dose of humility is what Ford needed. As a freshman, I believe Ford had two 30 pt games and won a starting position halfway through the season. I for one am happy to have him back... he is a real talent at this level. I'll echo Will and ask what exactly happened here? I'm assuming with Aaron Watson backing out of his verbal, they used the last scholarship to bring him back? I know he had inquired last season about coming back and the coaching staff declined.

With Ford in and Watson out, I hope Bosley is up the challenge ahead of him. We are a little thin roster-wise up front.

Will Ford have to sit out a year? Did he play at all at Clemson?

Ford left expecting to get a scholarship offer from Clemson (If remember correctly). It never came. Since Ford basically left the team and didn't play anywhere else at the D1 level, I don't think he has to sit out.

Was he enrolled at a JUCO this year?

I have not heard this from the horses mouth,so to speak, but I understand that Charles Ford will be walking on to the Hartford team this coming year.He has been working for this past year.He is up at Hartford now taking summer session classes. He will also be working up in the Hartford area all summer.I don't know if there is any kind of deal in that he would get a scholy in his last 2 eligible years or not.

No way that kid is paying! Hartford cost $30,000! NO way unless Harrison has a Cincy or Depaul scam going!

Do you think Harrison is making Ford earn his scholarship back? If this is true, we still have a scholarship available. I know Harrison wanted a juco big man to shore up his front court.

By the way... let me know those summer schedules and rosters when you get them.

Since we have one scholarship left, what rumours have you heard? Anything? Any big men?

From what I understand....this is only rumors not facts. He left Hartford for 3 reasons:

-had a baby girl back home and missed her.
-knew Jerryl Parker was supposed to come in this past year and play the 2G.With Stys as the PG at the time he saw himself back on the bench.
-his cousin Ford(forgot his 1st name) plays on Clemson and the scuttlebut was that he was going to earn a scholy there which obviously never panned out.

He was going to go JUCO(I had heard Southern Idaho) but for one reason or another he didn't.He kept in constant touch with the Hartford staff and players. He wanted back. This year he will earn a lot of playing time as they desperately need help at the PG slot with Stys and Cook at the 2G.He immediately becomes the best defensive player on the team(as good or better than McClinton). He's a 5'10 guy who dunks. His best game his freshman year was against UVM.He did a great job against Sorrentine(I think Sorrentine had 12 but all late) and he had 30 some odd points in that game. While he solidify's the backcourt the frontcourt is still somewhat of a question. We need 2 guys to step up.Parker is all set at the 3.From Goode,Lowndes,Bosley,Lang,Zimnackis and Taylor two have to be able to rebound and be productive down low.I still don't know if we should expect any transfers out(I'll find out shortly).I for one am VERY happy about Ford being back.

There's a Ford on Clemson currently who I seem to believe did a 5th year at Hargrave Military Academy.
