Subject: Fordham job

I know this does not directly relate to the America East but, what is going on with that job? Any confirmation to the rumor that ECU and former Drexel Coach Bill Herrion is involved with the Fordham job? I a little surprised on this one because Herrion had his best recruiting class so far at ECU.

I don't think it will be Herrion. I bet it ends up being one of the asst's at major schools who had past associations with Fordham(there are quite a few).

Yesterday's Post (or maybe the Daily News) indicated it may be Fred Hill (former Maine Assistant and current 'Nova assistant), Jimmy Pastos (Maryland assistant I believe), or another assistant coach. There's an assistant at Wichita State who was a former Fordham player who was also talking to them.

The only head coach I heard who is on the list is Dereck Wittenburg from Wagner.

I think that dollars and cents are going to steer their direction on this one. The Bob Hill buyout, while not entirely from their budget was steep, and they don't want to make an expensive mistake again.

I read that there has been big alumni support for former Ram Fred Quartlebaum. He is has been an assistant at UNC and Notre Dame. Obviously he has stong ties to the NYC area being a Fordham and Riverside Church Alum.
