Hey czar -- animal, 21:30:11 05/19/03 Mon
While you seem to have some clue, why do you continue to be so one-sided in your postings? No doubt if UNH or Hartford was going to get this kid instead of Albany, you'd be calling him a D-2 player, but since he is going to UA he is going to be an "impact player".
As least most of the other posters on here are objective about other schools. You are just a joke...

Re: Unsubstantiated Rumor about Albany-animal -- Patch, 21:51:23 05/19/03 Mon
Though the CZAR is quite onesided in his opinions and evaluations I think he may be right on this one.
If the rumor has any truth, I don't think Brown would sign the kid unless he felt the kid could be an impact player at this level.
As we all know,UA needs help now and for Brown to give a scholarship to a kid to sit a year I think speaks volumes about what Brown thinks of the kid. That is of course if there is any truth to the "RUMOR"!!!!!

Re: Unsubstantiated Rumor about Albany -- so predictable, 13:01:37 05/20/03 Tue
So predictable. Had this 7 ft pinerider been rumored to transfer to any other AE school, you would classify him as a division 2 player with no skills. Its no wonder you have no credibility. Albany has an awful lot of "impact" players for a last place program, no?

Re: so predictable -- Patch, 19:57:12 05/20/03 Tue
No one is hyping this kid as the second coming..., but if you look at the plight of UA Hoops there is a need of big bodies and this is surely a big body. Evidently Coach feels that the kid could contribute at the AE level. It's worth the gamble.
When you have been humiliated on the boards your priority is to find Big Men and if you are going to roll the dice why not do it with a 7 footer whose brother played DI in the real MAC.

Re: High School Stats -- AE NUT!!!, 18:14:13 05/20/03 Tue
Looks like a very good get for Albany! Great size and strength. BC has a pro up front in PF Craig Smith and Doorenkamp is 7' and a perimeter guy who compliments Smith. They also have UKa Agbai. Not many minutes available. Justin Rowe was very limited but he was effective in the AE and he came from an NAIA school! This kid and Lucious Jordan(Loyola transfer) will make Albany very good in two years!

For real? I'm sure the BC fans would love to hear this.
Will Zoellner be the biggest guy to ever play in the America East?

Re: High School Stats -- Patch, 12:37:26 05/23/03 Fri
Regardless of his HS or Collegiate stats he has drilled and worked out for 2 years at the Big East level and now Coach Brown will have a year to watch him and figure out how to utilize him best.
It shouls also help next years recruiting knowing 2 transfers are sitting out, maybe we can steal a real good POWER FORWARD I think Brown has one lined up already but you know "what coulda shoulda"

Ernest Turner from UNLV to Maine is one! Albany has two good ones!

Re: AE rumor -- czar, 13:44:07 05/25/03 Sun
bing, Hartford, UNH, and BU(Maybe 2) have 1 scholly left. I believe Maine has 4 if they didn't take Turner. Albany, NU, Stony, UMBC, and Vermont have none.
So Maine has to be the school if it's more than 1 to the same team!
Let us know the details Hoop Knowledge!

Re: AE rumor -- Will, 09:25:06 05/27/03 Tue
I would love to hear some names here. A few bigtime transfers could make a huge difference in the conference. I would definitely bet on Turner going to Maine, but who are the others?
UNH hasn't had a high impact transfer since that point guard from Niagra a while back. It would be a good year for a transfer to come in with that last scholarship.
